Map Track For Presentation Purposes

I’m loooking for a simple way to create a "semi-live" track for display in a website. Basically I’d like to be able to periodically add a couple of waypoints and have it update the track/route from the last recorded position, so that folks can see the progress of a trip.

I know that SPOT and InReach do this, but I’m looking for something that allows me to approximate that functionally off-line on a laptop.

I suspect the tool exists...I just haven’t been able to find it.

Thanks!!

You can create your map using Google Maps, adding a new position whenever you want. Embed that map link on your website or blog and people will always see the latest map.

That's how I dealt with the same problem a couple of years ago. As to exactly how to do all this you'll need to search Google for info - its I've forgotten how it was done. It was relatively easy though. Good luck
