Route 66

Interested in anyone who has done this trip or part of it (Chicago to Santa Monica) and what type of bike. Do you think this is feasible on a KTM690 Duke?

What are your concerns? Timeframe? Fuel?

It's well worth doing, but anything with wheels can do 66.

I would love to ride this route, does anybody have any information on if/who you can hire a bike from.

johnnail 10 Dec 2013 18:45

It's all paved road. You could ride it on anything

? Route 66 doesn't exist anymore other than tiny fragments scattered around the country, it has been paved over and generally erased. You can easily find much much better riding in the US.

Exactly, the Lincoln highway is a much better ride. I believe it was the first trans USA road. Lots of history, scenery and in the main quiet if you avoid the interstate bits. Ride safe.
