Seattle to Alaska

I'm looking for advice on a round trip from Seattle to the coast of Alaska.
I thought about riding up and getting the ferry back, does anyone have any tips and adive?

My best advice would be get yourself a Mile Post magazine.
In terms of ride vs ferry, up to you in terms of the time you have. An option if you are limited for time ride up and ferry back down. You can meet tons of great people just by hanging out on the ferry deck camping out.
