Sleeping Bags
 

Can anyone recommend one that has small pack size, reasonably lightweight, is not the "mummy" type (not sure I would like to be restricted when zipped in)and fairly inexpensive

Aldi do a reasonable compromise sleeping bag ... you will have to pick the time and be early to get one.

Phew thanks for that Tim, I was about to suggest a little shop in the Jiangsu Province in China...it does help if people put at least their country :D

On a serious note...I like and swear by the Softie Sleeping bags, used them in the military for years, you can get different togs for the seasons. They are light and compress down quite well
I don't really know the prices now as I have had mine years
