For once I have to agree with you,. Herbert. That was very informative.
Moggy, If you have more of those nuggets, you should definitly start a thread on it. Jens |
Fabric jackets
Hi Moggy
Have you any comments on fabric clothing? :thumbup1: |
|
Moggie that's a great one!
Moggie your last post was brilliant and very informative.
Maybe (as suggested by Atwoke) you could put more info on that in a new thread so that every one can read? For example what about non leather clothing? Is it less protective than leather? Or is it better to have leather (even of lower quality) than corduroy? Would be interesting to know. Thanks. |
thanks for the compliments guys, wasn't fishing but nice to hear.
with regard to non leather. waxed motorcycle jackets offered better protection than bad leather, which at just 30mph was so badly damaged they couldn't tell which bit had failed. kevlar is obviously brill, but not as well padded as leather and you have to watch the stiching, it will tear because the material is so strong unless it is done properly. when you buy a helmet, try it on, then put your chin towards you chest put your arms over your head, grasp the back rim of the helmet and try to pull it over your head - hard. Even if it doesn't come off if it moves a fair way it could come off in an accident. mine did and it really hurt!! we see a suprising number of bikers whose helmets, gloves and/or boots have come of in an accident, and they don't work when they're sliding down the road next to you!! I guess as with most things safety, buy the best you can afford. oh, and shorts, Tshirts and flip flops are right out!!! |
I know whats going on ................................
Meekies' just try ing to up his number of posts,so he gets promoted to vetran. Wind every one up with a load of S**te-- Quote:
and get me numbers up. |

Please dont judge me by your feeble standards. It's laughable. If you are excited by the word veteran (check my spelling)then dont assume that others are. Come on, get a life. If my posts "wind you up" then I suggest you get professional help - or blame your parents for making a mess of your head. It's not your fault, probably. But if you beat yourself on the head with a hammer, don't blame the maker. Please? Now come on and tell us something interesting about your bike, your travels etc. And get a dictionary. And dont be rude.:nono: |

Herbert,... Herbert.... Were you never taught at school, that you never start a sentence with "And"? Oh, and "dont" has an apostrophe, but lets not get picky. John |

Em...Kevie - joined October 2005;37 posts Meekie - joined Sept 2006 54 posts WTF...... Meekie rides a bullet - Kevie toured India on a Bullet in 2004;OK an organised tour ...... Kevie rides an 1100 Zephry (84000 kms on the clock) which went to Gibraltar with him last year via Andorra and the bull run in Pamplona. Kevies' done 2.5k miles around Ireland this year. Kevies' going to Scandanavia next year. Not a rtw I know, but not too bad for someone who can't spell! Oh and Kevie doesn't spend most of his time on the I-net; too busy riding! |

Are you feeling well? Not hearing voices? Your travels sound interesting -it's nice to hear of them. RTW? No-one has to go RTW to enjoy riding, so don't seem so defensive. However you seem to spend as much time on the Net as me- even to counting posts! Why bother? Get a life PLEASE! Do you always refer to yourself as Kevie? Dont you prefer to say "I"? I post more than you because I have interesting things to say. I am cheerier than you and my posts are happy, fun things. Yours seem a bit gloomy. You can learn something from me. And I'm happy to help you if you ask. You went on a tour of India on a Bullet?! Are you mad? That bike is an outdated old banger-you took your life in your hands there. And you paid for this....strewth...I will pray for you... The bull run in Pamplona is nothing short of animal cruelty and you should be ashamed. These animals are terrified and the howling loonies who torment them should be jailed. And don't kid youself that goods are a lot cheaper in Andorra - they're not. Gibraltar is, I find, a very tacky place. The sooner the UK gives it back to Spain the better. And I say that as a half-Brit, half-Irish and half-Spanish person. You're not as rude as you were the first time- thats welcome! Yor speling has emproved.:thumbup1: Except for Zephry. |

1-I allways listen to the voices, the're my only real friends. 2-I'm supposed to be working, when I'm not working I'm not surfing. ( Machines running at 99.999% efficeincy) 3- No thanks, I've managed to get this far all by self 4- Yes -its called excitement 5 - Its great craic Thank you, but it's probably my two fingered typing that's bad ............ And rude? No, just on a wind up .........................lol |

I will forgive typing errors. But look - allways - the're-efficeincy-by self. Now you take a tip from me....go out and dig a bit of peat for the pensioners in your village. When you finish I guarantee your spelling will be better. It could be that English is your second language in which case I apologise as I speak no Irish. I feel that the only two fingered action you want to make is at me. And that saddens me.:( |

Haha, I think you're getting your own back for the redboots post(#113). Sure, didn't you know we have our own English over here;just like the Americans do(color, theater etc) Peat = Scotland Turf = Ireland Holiday cottage = Wales Kevie has to go now, there's roads need riding............ PS nofingersforyouwhatsoever |
" half Irish , half British and half Spanish " -
That's quite a mixture Herbie , no wonder you are such a mutant . [ poor grammar , can't count - you'd make an ideal teacher !] I'm waiting for that photo of your bike ,or is your hand too sore to take a photo? You must stop beating your bishop or you will go blind . |
