Training off road around London
Hello Lovely Travellers!
I have just started my motorbike passion and have lovely Suzuki supermoto. I am looking for a place where I can practice the off road ride and the ride as well. I am based in NE London so further Essex would be good too. Is there anybody who can recommend some places or, in the best scenario, is also practising and can give me some addresses please? Much, much appreciated for help! |
Nothing? Maybe somebody knows some places but is shy? Please don't.

Learning .. it is not about speed. Well going faster. It is about balance, the reaction of the motorcycle to the terrain and your input to the motorcycle. Travel slowly, stand up on the pegs, gentle turns -lean the bike in while your body stays upright, then bike upright while your body leans in, then going over bumps while standing ...knees flexing as the bike goes up and down while your body stays level. You need to learn to put your body where it will do the most good and the bike the same. For most .. standing up for the bumps makes the most difference at first. Think of it as yoga on the bike. |

+1 for Herts TRF
They do free beginners rides every month |
I know that you wanted training around the London area, but I cannot speak highly enough of the BMW Off Road Skills school in Wales. They teach all the necessary skills for coping with off-road conditions, but those skills are equally useful on road - in the wet, in construction zones, on loose gravel, etc.

Ref off road training in Wales... The Yamaha Off Road experience days run by ex UK enduro champion Gerant Jones are outstanding. I've done it 3 times and used their bikes WR's TTR's etc but you can also take your own if you prefer.. see link Yamaha Off Road Motorcycle Days | Enduro Training School | Motocross Days In Wales

This doesn't help with your current bike but i'd really recommend trying out trials riding (bound to be a club near you). Great for low speed technical skills that will give you confidence with other riding, whether off road or on.
