US Rider Needs Help w/Moto Insurance in the UK
Looking for help with obtaining insurance in the UK. I am a US resident and just purchased a used Panigale in the UK. Will be riding it there for a few days next week and then shipping to the US. It's registered to the dealer with plates on it. Have called 12+ insurance co. in the UK and some in the US (have called Motorcycle Express/Services) without finding anyone to cover the bike. Does anyone have experience with this or contact info they can provide? Also looking for a good shipping co and freight insurance as well. Once it's wheels touch US soil it will get easier but wow - what a struggle to do this until then! Any help is super appreciated. Thanks so much!

Looking at a couple of other threads it looks like these guys might be able to help. www.bikesure.co.uk
Good luck and let us know how you get on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I would think the dealer you bought the bike through could reach out and cover your bike for the few days you'll be there. You should have made that a condition of sale.
If they're good guys, they'll do it. After all, it's got their plate. They could also just call it a demo bike up until you depart. HU runs an ad here for Motorcycle Express shipping. Air freight to US. There is another company too. If me, I'd go DIRECT to an air line. I've had great luck with Luthhansa, but I'm sure other have good air cargo too. Call around, find out the requirements. Lately, Air Canada has had some GREAT deals for air freight. Check them out for sure. If airline is good you won't need a middleman like MC Express or James Cargo. If you want the good roads in UK ... leave and ride over to France. So much better. You could easily spend two weeks having fun ... better weather too! (and better food!) |
