Where to buy new Yamaha XT660 Tenere internationally
I'm looking to buy a new XT660Z Tenere, anywhere from in the UK to in Hong Kong. Does anyone know if there is savings to be made by buying from a particular country, and indeed which countries the Tenere is available to buy in?
Cheers all |
tenere
the bike is avaelebel in denmark and if you are bringing the bike out of the country and putting and non danish numberplate on the price is around 5300 euro..
its a great bike, im on my way from denmark to australia on a bike like this. until now 20000km without problems |
Denmark has been a good place in the past to buy as the VAT levels are so high that the base price tends to be lower than elsewhere.
However... my mate just bought a brand new Tenere from a UK dealer for £4,800. |
Peter & Tim - thanks alot guys, i've been checking motorcycle trading websites around the world, so knowing that info has saved me alot of time, cheers.
@Tim - 4800 sterling sounds fantastic, do you know which dealer that was from? When I'm in UK am London based, but would not be a problem to travel. |
Someone in the south east who needed to shift a bike.
Best thing is to phone round the Yamaha dealers in the UK and find out what they have in stock and ask for their best price. There seems to be a load of bikes built in 2008 and 2009 that are still unregistered. You would, of course, still get a full two year warranty. Once you get a list of those who seem to be willing to deal, play one off against the other. |
I've checked with my friend and the bike was from John W Groombridge Motorcycles. Their website (www jwg.co.uk) appears to be down at the moment, address is Heathfield, East Sussex, TN21 0SP.
I got the price wrong, it was £4900. |
