Why did you decide to go?
Hi everyone,
My question is to do with what people got out of their journeys and what was the motivation behind the trips. I would love to hear why people set off. Was it looking for something new, or running from something old? Did the fears and worries of life on the road simply add up to less than the fear of wasting another year living a 9-5 existence? Or is it much simpler, in that months riding is simply better than going to work everyday?! I would love to hear people’s thoughts and experiences. (My plan is to ride my 1981 Honda GL500 (essentially a cx500) from Yorkshire back to Sydney, and from there, who knows!) Thanks! Jared |
:welcome: to the hubb.
The was a similar thread at http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...ink-yeah-72450 a little while ago. A little reading for you there. |
Thanks Chris! Lots of good stuff there. :)

It seemed a good idea at the time.
The hotel bar will always feel a bit pants until you remember the meal of cold tea and formerly government issue spam in some freezing tent. Damn this châteaux la fitte and think of the poor lads who are still trying to work it out. Andy |
This is something that I have tried to put into words and understand what drives me to do it. I wrote this down in a bit of a tale on my blog. The link to it is here and gives a bit of an insight into it whilst keeping the trip reports in the same area. Take a look. Took me ages to write!
