Hi Paul, I have this thing in my head about doing the towns at the four points of the compass in Europe. I've done the South and West (tarifa, Spain and Dingle,Ireland-that was easy!
I'm now setting up to travel to Knordcap and over to Urals.Trouble is no-one can confirm which is the most easterly town in Europe. Please keep me up to date here - kevinb99@iol.ie[/email] I'll follow the thread here as well. In 2008 I'll be 51 and should have enough pennies in my piggybank for a decent trip Slainte |

I went via Seribia, Romainia, Ukraine, Crimea into Russia and onto Vladivostock. Came back from Sakhalin Is (dipped a wheel in the West Pacfic) via Mosscow, Finland, Sweden, Norway and carried onto the most westerly point in Ireland (dipped a wheel in the Atlantic), then back home to Bedfordshire. Great trip, I had a double entry visa for Russia with the plan to visit Mongolia but sort of run short on time, still leaves something to go back for. I was gone for 14 weeks, it's a BIG contry. Across Russia Trip
Did you guys make your cross Russia trip? I am considering starting across Russia on the M58 in September and finishing in early October. I would enjoy reading about other's experiences.
I hear the road is finished now. Russian friends tell me that it will rain too much, that there are many robbers and killings on the road... but they are not adventurers. What is the truth? I hope to find out. Anybody interested in joining me? David from California |
The Stans 2008
It's a surprise to see this old post resurrected! Yes - Two of us crossed Russia and into The Stans in 2008 as far as Uzbekistan where I came back on my own through Turkmenstan/Azer/Georgia/Turkey and my German friend met another rider and crossed Siberia. Planning Mongolia and Siberia next year (June start)
