HU dating whoa , Ted what a cracking idea!!!
Grant, Susan this could be a whole new revenue stream:D
Live webcams, texting services etc.
Heres mine
Male biker seeks strict female to teach him the art of throttle control and pipe polishing.
Ideally you should be aged 30 – 55 and look good in a set of size 10 leathers.
The ability to cook and “mend a puncture” would be a bonus.
Doesn’t matter if you can’t cook I love Dominos and take outs!

May I be the first to apologies for, maybe, getting your hopes up by posting a reply to this thread as a man, which is clearly not what you are hoping for. Best of luck with your "adventure" :innocent:

greenmanalishi 5 Apr 2014 20:59

Best of luck

Hi Swissjosh, seriously mate the very best of luck, I hope you find what you are looking for and have a wonderful trip. Let us know how you get on.
All the best

I think you'd be having a great time moderating that category though, eh ???

However, the 'Mini-meets' could suddenly turn risky as you won't know if you're meant to be bringing your best cooking gear or your best set of clean undies...

And the 'Best gadgets' threads could probably end up losing their relevance too....

:eek3:

Toyark 5 Apr 2014 21:40

Best cooking gear every time Ted- You just cannot beat a good meal-
and 'No' we are not going down 'that' road.
This is a clean travel site and I would hazard a guess that (almost) everyone appreciates that it is 'family friendly'.
Now can I go back to my souffle aux Girolles avec Persil? :biggrin3:

swissjosh

I seem to remember a similar thread being posted a year or so back, which had shall we say a "mixed" and sometimes "unhelpful" responses and was eventually closed by a MOD.

Lets hope the same does not happen and this remains a viable and sensible post.

It is a reasonable post to write and says exactly what is required. No different to any other "seeking travellers" post.

Just because "male" is NOT used it should not be treated any different. In hind sight it may have been an error on my part to reply, and I do apologies for that.

All posts should be treated with equality, it's time us blokes stopped getting all excited over posts like this. Everyone should feel confident to make such a post who ever they are and what ever they are looking for. Perhaps there would be more posts of this nature if less was said??

Again good luck swissjosh.

Personally I think it's just a bit tasteless, I mean what can a female travel partner do that a male one can't, if you take the obvious out of the equation?

And I wouldn't personally want to be on that journey if my reason for being there was as a concubine to a Land Rover driver :(

I suspect the arrangement will work better if you find someone
that wants to spend time with you and is of a spirit inclined to make the journey rather than
you find someone inclined to spend time with you because they want to make a trip

Now I don't know your real reason for wanting a female travel partner, and we may be judging you unfairly, but so would most self respecting women I reckon.

What I will say in all seriousness, is that from experience extended travel can be at times a test of peoples abilities to suffer each others faults and flaws if forced into proximity, don't underestimate that.

Also if you were platonic and so forth and your new partner hooked up with a dashing and suave overland biker in far flung somewhere (they can't help it, we are irresistable:innocent:) how would you feel that your only company was acting in a perfectly rational adult manner but leaving you out in the cold for company

Well, good luck to you, but I'd consider tweaking the title of your thread, which does not sound grammatically correct ("Adventurer required female"?) or very clear--is a female really "required" or just desired? If "required" then you might want to consider at least picking up at least the fuel costs...
