All around South America - start in November 2018 in Chile - Santiago
Hi there,
So I put more updated post now. I already booked my ticket to Santiago de Chile and will be there 31st of October. Then I am starting looking for bike and after I do all paperwork and prepare all gear I am going to go roughly like this: Santiago-Ushuaia-Buenos Aires-Uruguay-Brasil-Paraguay-Bolivia-Chile-Peru-Ecuador-Colombia. If there is someone else planning something similar, please let me know and maybe we can do some parts together or at least exchange some experience. I am 27, guy from Poland, going there solo:) Cheers |
I'm heading down to South America from North USA now, and will be in Chile around your timeframe, keep in touch we could meet up!

Sounds good Bucephalus :) BTW I see in your profile that you are riding KLR650, do you recommend this one? Because that's exactly the one I would like to buy there.

Less likely to meet up if you're heading south from Santiago de Chile first, but you never know.

Hi, I am heading to Medellin, Columbia in early Nov. and then hope to find a bike and travel to Patagonia in Jan. I would be interested in riding with others if the timing works out. Any leads on bikes would be appreciated, I currently ride an 03 Suzuki DL 1000 and a 09 BMW F800 GS but I used to ride a DR 650.
Cheers |
Hey! I'm actually doing a really similar route, also starting in Santiago, but I arrive Nov 14th, and it'll take me about a week to get my bike and paperwork before I can be on the road, so i won't be able to leave until the 22nd at the absolute earliest. My trip is super open ended, but I'm hoping to be able to get to Rio for Carnival in March.
Full disclosure, I'm a (very) new rider, and I'll likely be on a the Honda Tuf 125cc. If any of this sounds good, DM me because I'd love to meet up and ride togther! |
