Reply sent to Charlemagne. You should have received it by now - if not please let me know. The group have paid a deposit so more or less written in stone. There are eight persons - five bikes and two cars in the group. We enter China via Kyrgyzstan on the 20th June Transit time through China is 35 days The route is east and then south through Chengdu into Tibet We exit via Laos The cost of the guide per person is approx. $1,500 If anyone wants to join they can still do so but time getting away. Hello ,maybe I am late,but me and 3 friends of mine are just arrived in Cambodia coming from Vietnam and Laos.we have parked our bikes in a small Cambodian town .we want go to Nepal and than driving trough Silk Road go home(Italy).Our programm is flight from Bkk to Katmandu in next spring or summertime We are very interesting also to pass China to Kasgar with other bikers to share cost.What do you thinkTo fly Katmandu we have to spend 1900$ (driver+Moto) each. We are very flexible

The modified route turned into 45 days and extra cost for all involved FYI The Tibet section was canned by China after some of us had already committed(this was due to a lot of Tibetan monks setting themselves on fire). Then when everyone was getting close to Kyrgystzan from different directions, the tour was further corrupted by China once again changing the rules. We could not enter Xianjing province and go into the next province, we had to ride north, exit China then ride through Mongolia to Ulan Batar and purchase new China visas then supposedly enter China again via Erenhot. We were then told our tour was cancelled and were left with the only option of flying all our bikes into Bangkok, the 4wd owner had to drive back to the UK. We had major issues with the tour company, so I just thought I would find out which one you were using, in case you need to modify your planning. Cheers TravellingStrom |

English speaking guide 7. Guide vehicle 8. Transport for guide and guide vehicle before meet guests and after end of the tour. Normally it need at least 1 week for guide to leave in advance (prepare other documents before your coming) and back 9. NAVO’s service charge Excludes 1、 Meals and accommodations 2、 The fuel, road toll, traffic accident compensation, repairing cost, spare part and parking. 3、Camping 4、 Cost for emergency if the clients enter China in advance or leave China before the end of the tour. 5、 Other personal charge. 6、The group vehicle deposit in the Custom (we can talk it later). If there will be a 4 wheels vehicle with 1 driver to join in, then the quote will be around CNY50,000/group, that is CNY25,000/person. The Terms and conditions is the same with above one except guide vehicle, which you do not need any more if you travel together with other 4 wheels vehicle. That is why we organised such a large group - dividing the cost between eight persons is cheaper than bearing the costs alone. We found another guide company who is prepared to allow us to camp for ten of the thirty five days it takes to cross China. We had a large number of people interested in the trip but in the end we had get them to commit to the trip by paying deposits. As you can imagine many then dropped away leaving just a group of eight. The total guide cost for our group is $1,560 (1,172 euro) which does not include our accommodation, meals etc. Still a lot cheaper than 6,667 euro going by myself. Hope that helps David |
