Azerbaijan -> Turkmenistan -> Uzbekistan
 

Hi All,

I am currently planning a route which goes Azerbaijan (Baku) -> Turkmenistan -> Uzbekistan. I am currently looking at costings for going with a tourist visa through Turkmenistan which requires a guide (unless someone can tell me otherwise). We are looking to travel in Early August 2009 and I would be keen to know if anyone else is planning on traveling around that time so we could potentially join up to cut the costs of the guide. I am open to alternatives suggestions on dates and routes as we are fairly flexible.

How long are you planning on spending in Turkmenistan? As an alternative to a tourist visa you can get a 5 day transit visa for 50 euros from the London embassy.
