BMW GS Trophy Mongolia 2018
We are planning to get our bikes from Melbourne to Vladivostok around May 1 next year to witness and ride Mongolia and on to Europe. Currently have space in the container if anyone wants to join us.

Quite sure will be a great 2028 event, enjoy Mongolia, just did again recently but not with a motorcycle unfortunately...

On this segment in the beginning of May there is 60-70% probability that it will be snow, ice and temperature below zero

Thanks for the heads up Re weather in Vladivostok. When do you suggest arriving there as to enjoy?
|
Google Vladivostok Climate gets https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vladivostok#Climate
and from that you can take your pic... Not cold ... Jun - Sept Not wet Oct - April ... doh Good Luck .. you might also want to consider the rest of the trip .. not just the one place. You don't want perfect weather in Vladivostok and then freeze in Mongolia ... take a middle ground. Consider the whole trip .. no snow/ice might be a good thing to avoid for an Ozie in the north. |
Hello
May is early but it depends on the winter. If you can, start from june. In 2013 I arrived in Vladivostok on May 6th .... on May 22th I was in Mongolia. (http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...s-in-may-69583) #17 sushi |

Hi Kymo,
I am definitely interested in joining you on your journey. I had been involved in another trip but it fell through due to illness. Have you confirmed a date? I was aware they have an "Opening of Motorcycling season" or something in Vlad which sounded to me like a good time to start a journey there. I'm also from Melbourne on a Tiger 800. Regards David. |
