California and South
 

I'll be leaving SF on about August 10, 08 heading down through Baja and taking the ferry from La Paz over to Mazatlan, up into the mountains and down to Oaxaca. Study spanish there for a while, then on down to Guatemala and study some more. Eventually want to be in TDF around xmas and then head back up through Brazil. Anybody heading out about that time?

What bike are you taking? Late June '09 a group of friends on on-off road bikes will be leaving from Cuzco, Peru for a 5,000 km loop "Around the Block 2009" within Peru including Coast, Andes and Jungle. If you are in the area and want to join up, let me know. :mchappy:

Also, any specific plans on a Brazil return route? We very much enjoyed Brazil, although it was expensive. Don't miss Foz of course ... :Beach:

Heading south, starting in September
 

I'll be leaving Panama in early September (solo on KLR650) , heading toward Ushuaia. Keep me posted on your schedule and maybe we can meet up.

Im hearing more and more people say that the rains in central america are rough from september on. I may change my studies ideas and instead of studying in Mexico, head on down the ecuador and study there. That would mean that I would be rolling through panama in late august, early september. Catch a plane down to ecuador from there and then relax and study in ecuador.

La Paz ferry
 

I have heard that the La Paz ferry (to mainland) was not running recently. Does anybody know it's current status? If running, has it been reliable?
