China - August 2012. Sharing guide costs. (Mongolia to Kyrgyzstan)
 

Two guys from Australia are riding from Vladivostok to Istanbul on KTM 990 Adventure & BMW F800GS. We are currently getting quotes from serveral Chinese tour comapnies.

The Chinese leg of our trip starts on 6th August 2012, from Takeshikan Pass/Urumqi, and exit China through Kashgar/Irkestam Pass around 10 days later.

I am wondering if anyone out there interested in joining us to share guide costs.

Please report about the cheapest guide cost i.e agency you will take. Actually I will make your tour but from the other end leaving Kyrgistan in end of August, touring on silkroad through China and heading Mongolia.

I am currently talking to Navo Tour, Newland Traveler, and China tour. Price starts at $5,600 for two riders. I think all three of them are reputable.

What are you exactly getting for that $5,600 ?

Is that for example also the cost of your hotels?

Our tour has stretched out into 12 days now, and the cost has gone up to $7,000!

They are very busy this year and all tour comapnies has quoted higher prices than normal. This price includes a guide, a driver, and a vehicle plus all the paper work.

Hotel cost is extra, which is around $60 per room per day for a 3 star hotel.
