Where will you trip begin?
Will you have bikes in Kyrgyzstan or will you begin in Germany? Any idea of how many K's the trip will cover?

time. Would like to share costs on China crossing. Some discussion of this in a thread here Looking to share costs crossing China. |
Hi Laura,
how flexible are you regarding your travel schedule? Would it be interesting for you to do KYG-Laos in June? We are two and have a car and are looking for some solution to bring the crazy costs down :) Cheers Jo |
Guys!
I supposed to make my way through Pakistan (Trip from Moscow to Indonesia), but the situation there now turns a bit scary and I'm looking forward to catch up with a group to cross China. My plan is to enter China from Tajikistan and then follow the KKH. Start of the trip is scheduled on the late August (1 bike, 1 rider), so I'll be at the Tajik-China border at the beginning of October. If anyone is planning to go by KKH that time I'd love to join the group!bier |
Hi Laura
i'm interrested by your proposal, but I cannot tell you fore sure at this time. I've been planning a trip from France to Australia, starting next May, but it's kind of tricky with the visas an authorizations.. I wanted to cross Iran.. authorizations refused. I change my tactics, I planned to get from turkey to Russia via Georgia, and trough the Stans.. but with the recent events between Russia and Ukrainia, I might be difficult to get through the military road and cross russian border. Also it will be difficult to get a business visa (3 month, double entries..). So, last chance would be to get through Caspian see from Baku to Aktau (I'm not really looking forward to this.. ), skip the Mongolia parts, and try to reach south east Asia from Kyrghyzstan. I soon as I get (or not) my russian visa, I will know what are the possibilities. As I tried to avoid riding China because of the cost and complications, I didn't really digged into it, and I don't know how long it take to get everything organized in time (visa and the rest.. I believe we need to get Chinese driving licence, chinese plates for the bike, and a guide.. + the visa itself). Also, do you have an idea of the cost of the trip (just for the paperworks and guide, not including life cost in China) ? cheers, talk soon bier |
