Crossing Burma from Thailand into India December 2016
Hi guys,
I'm planing a trip from Australia to Europe next year (start May 2016) shipping the bike from Brisbane to Malaysia. After spending some time in South East Asia I'm going to cross Burma from Thailand into India around December 2016. I know it's still early days but I'm wondering if there are people out there who are going to do the same? I've got quotes already to cross but of course as more people as cheaper it gets :thumbup1: I'm flexible with the time but don't want to cross to late otherwise it will get to cold by the time I get to Europe :biggrin3: From India I'm going into Nepal and then back into India and ride across into Pakistan. From there it's depending on the border situation between Pakistan and Iran if I can cross or have to go KKH highway into Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and then enter Iran from the north and ride into Turkey from there. Looking forward to hear from a few people with the same or similar plan :scooter: |
Hello Mario, I am planning to ride from Europe to Australia but I could consider doing it the other way. Are you considering to do the trip in stages or all at once ? I could ship my bike to Australia and start from there. I am from Italy and just rode around the world. I am missing south east Asia and Australia. You can check it all on www.mototravellers.com

Hi Mario
We're looking at a similar trip leaving from Perth to Darwin shipping the bikes to Dili through Malaysia Thailand and then through to Burma and India, at this stage we have a start date (July) and end date (mid November) these are by far the rough plans so far, but could be possibly crossing Burma around the same time. We are riding a 690 and drz400 The New Man www.anewmanstrack.com |
Hi Roberto,
this is amazing I just been on your homepage and really impressed. My plan is to do the hold trip all at once. I actually met a guy in Cambodia when I traveled South East Asia on a Dominator in 2011. His name is Giacomo from San Marino. He started from Italy and his bike is parked in Malaysia in the moment. He is not sure when to carry on because he has to look after his mother in the moment. So to come to the Burma crossing and my adventure, when are you looking to travel? Do you have a time window for how long you can go? I will leave mid to end of Mai next year and ship from Brisbane to Malaysia and my plan is to spent time in Asia before I go west towards Europe. Did you consider to ship the bike to OZ and go the same way? It would be great to ride together in certain parts, specially Burma, it's a 10 day trip across with guide for approx $1500 with accomodation and drop off on the Indian side. The plan is to cross Burma maybe in December or so which is suppose to be a good time with the weather etc. So what are your plans?? Looking forward to hear from you Mario |
Hi Everyone , I,d be interested in jumping on board part of this trip depending on time scale etc .. I was thinking to fly my Bike out to Thailand and then ride back to the UK :thumbup1:

That sounds good if you would join. Does December 2016 sound good for you? I have enough time I don't want to ride thru Burma in shit weather :)

Myanmar crossing
Hi Mario,
My planned trip NSW to Europe shipping Darwin to Dili end of July-would find me wanting to cross Myanamar around that time. I would be interested in joining your group. Riding a BMW650GS twin. Cheers Pete |
