Crossing Myanmar from India to Thailand in October 2016
Hello to everyone,
I'm a German and I'll travel from Germany to Thailand by motorcicle. I'm planning to cross Myanmar/Burma in October 2016. Currently it is only possible to cross Myanmar with a Guide. The costs for the Guide will be depend from the size of the group. I will create a group of 5 - 8 persons. Entering from Morei - Tamu and exit thru Tachileik (golden triangel) or Myawaddy - Mae Sot Planning time, round about 10 - 12days I found following websides or contacts: - Bright View Travels & Tours - Osuga Myanmar Travels and Tours - Burma Senses Travel and Tours | The Best Travel Agent in Burma Everyone who is intrested can write to my e-mail: j.lackhove@online.de If there is already a group at this time, I would also like to join this. |

Hello all, we just came through Myanmar with a 5 person group. It was a 19 day tour and we made it with OSUGA-Myanmar. From our side we can HIGHLY RECOMMEND them! Everything was really well organized, the guide (Tun) was perfect. For what we paid, we got a lot.
Wish you a pleasant ride! For us, it was one of the most impressive parts of our journey. Frank + Petra |
My plan is confirmed and i am also interested to join the group crossing on 17.10.I have also sent an email to another agency "bright view travel" to get some competitive quotes.
|
I'm also interested. I'm from US, with a motorcycle purchased in India. It's hard to find info on fees/requirements to travel from India --> Myanmar --> Thailand. I'm sure others have done it but I can't find any definitive information.
The rates you got are alright, but will there be extra fees/deposits? I mean you are transporting a motorcycle which technically you could sell in Myanmar or Thailand, and there "should" be penalties or preventive measures against doing so. |

I'm not sure what you mean, crossing and afterwards selling your bike, or only crossing ...? If you like only crossing Myanmar, you need a "carnet de passage" as a costum document about your motorcycle. Further you need a visa from Myanmar. A guide from Myanmar prepare further documents. He Needs the following: · carnet de passage · passport · driving License · pictures from the motorcycle If you have further questions, you can ask OSUGA Myanmar Travel. I'm sure, they will help and answer the questions. For this you can find the adress into this post. If you Need a complet qoute from OSUGA, I can send it PN. |
Hey Guys, I live in Austria and my plan is to leave Vienna in June heading to Australia, via Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India and then Myanmar. So i would be really interessted in joining your group as well. I'll also visit the embassy of myanmar to get my visa, is there really no possibility to cross myanmar without a guide and all the costs? :scooter:
