Hi guys, thanks for the reply. I will be leaving Belgium half of April, through France, 2 weeks Portugal 1 week Spain. So that makes half of May, last week May I will be ready to head into Morocco. I dont drive that slow but Im visiting friends en route and have someone with me the first week.
Maybe we can meet up somewhere?
@ Pat: I ll be around the same time there, so lets keep in touch and see what the timing will be like?
@ chrashbadger: I dont know if we can meet up and if the timing will be convenient but lets see when we both hit the sand where we are?
@ Mrwood120: Well, Im always up for a chat and a drink, dont know how long you guys travel but keep me posted!
@ jjjjjjcccc: It seems that great minds have great plans, at the same time. Well, the timing looks good so lets see where we both are once we hit the dirt!

rndef 12 Feb 2015 08:27

Hi guys,

I'm heading down the west coast to SA in the end of the month on a XT600E.
A bit ahead of you but travelling slow so we might catch up somewhere or other. Hopefully doing DRC.

Cheers,

Roughly my route will be after Morocco, Mauretanie, Mali, Burkina Faso, ghana, togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, DRC?, Angola, Namibia, SA. But seriously, I didnt plan that much on my route yet. The safest will do and is always subject to change with the visas, embassies, political situation,...

@ Rndef: ok, keep in touch and will see where everybody is at the time of ...

Cheers and enjoy your trip

yeah same route for me really, although Angola doesn't look that likely with the visa difficulties. so more likely to be DRC to Zambia.
main concerns at the moment are Mali and rainy season in DRC.
should be in Morocco 1st June so only leaves 3 months to get to DRC before the rain does.
also hopefully the Cameroon-Nigeria border will be open by then.
and a friend of mine has recently decided to join the trip, so might be two of us

regie 19 Feb 2015 16:15

Hey,

I'm in kyrgyzstan now, started in japan and heading to europe. I never had africa in my plan cos i thought it was too dangerous. Isnt there crazy shit happening in alot of those countries? Nigeria!! isnt there a war in mali at the moment?

cheers,
regie

Same route as me. Im returning on the 7th July to collect my bike and continue my West Africa trip. I will be making tracks fast in the north because of the summer heat and because of the possibility of catching the rainy season in DRC. Im hoping to do DRC with someone because I think its going to be a massive Adventure!!!

Let us know were you will be. Would love to catch up for a beer.
