From Chile to Argentina, Bolivia, Peru,.......
Hi everybody.
I'm Ricardo, 48 yrs old and I'm planning to start a trip in Santiago, Chile, crossing to Argentina (Mendoza) and heading north to Villazon to cross to Bolivia. Next Salar de Uyuni, La Paz, Lago Titicaca, Machu Picchu, Nazca Lines and going north from there to Ecuador, Colombia and depending on the money $$$ I'll follow north to central/north America. The journey will start end April or beginning of May and I have some experience in long travel. I'm also open to consider other routes or countries I am riding a 2009 Suzuki DR 650 and I'll like to meet someone to join me in part/all the journey. If you are interested, please contact me here or email me |

Ribaros,
Join us! I am leading a group of 6 riders on a 5,000 km loop within Peru. We are riding XR650L's, NX400 Falcon's, and XR250 Tornados rented out of Cuzco. We will be leaving Cuzco on June 28th heading south to the Colca Canyon, then to the coast and up to Nazca and north, turning inland before Lima. We all grew up in Peru and are dirt bikers. We are all fluent in Spanish, and at least one other language of Peru (including Quechua). I have ridden in Peru for over 20 years, organizing Motocross, Enduros, and Moto-Rallies. We only tolerate pavement and LOVE the high, out of the way roads.... Supongo que con nombre de "Riberos" que tambien hablas espanol :thumbup1:. No se en que fecha piensas llegar al Peru, pero talvez nos encontramos en el Norton Rats Tavern en Cuzco... Toby :mchappy::mchappy::mchappy: |

Hi All,
I'm currently in El Califate, Argentina heading north to California. I'll be seeing a bit of Chile and Argentina, then plan to go through Bolivia, Peru, etc., north to California. Future plans are to be in Bariloche, Argentina on the 28th of March, then depart Mendoza about a month after that. If we'll be in the same area, I'd love to meet up. Jason |

Hi everybody, I'm currently in NZ and want to ride my way back to Europe starting end next month possibly.
Whats the best way of doing it - by renting or buying? I had just thought 'Buy' but I see some of you are renting...? Is this a long term rent and what sort of money are we talking about? (I imagine that not having to try and sell a S.American bike in N. America is probably a good thing..?) In conclusion: option 1. Buy and sell in S.Am ? Or option 1a: rent? Then buy/rent again in N.Am? sell before going to europe? Or option 2. Buy in SA and ship all around? option 3 is ship my KTM 990 Adv over and do it all on that.. what do you all think? It would be great to hook up with you guys who know their way around. cheers james Quote:

Hi I'm currently in NZ and want to travel up through S.America and make my way across to Europe for late summer.
I'm interested in joining some of you who have more experience in S.Am and can speak spanish (!) I have some french and a little italian but not much use thereabouts I'd guess. I own a KTM 990 Adv here in NZ and wonder if its worth shipping across or maybe buy or rent for the period .. Any ideas thoughts etc welcome here.. Advantage to shipping would be I have a bike in Europe, but disadvantage would be either having to sell or ride back to NZ in the autumn. Probably favour buying over there and selling again before I leave. What do you all reckon? Cheers James |
Hmmm, sorry for the double posting but at first it didnt appear so I thought I'd lost it and had to re do it! Same questions - different wording!
Thanks for your indulgence.. james |
