for iran visa, there's good info on lonely planet
they say it can be so easy or so hard to get
it depends on embassies and nationalities
it's hard and expensive here in france

if you don't succeed, you can get a 5-10 days transit visa

pakistan is easy and cheap here in france but can not do it now (you have to enter the country max 3 months once the visa is made)

have fun in iran, i won't be with you, i plan to be in iran in october
maybe, we'll meet later on the way, i go to india, se asia, oz, nz, americas after

i m stuck in ulan bator already 3 weeks waiting for a cardan/driveshaft for my r100gs.
i m now in mongolia, leaving soon to central asia then iran pakistan, india, se asia ...

FYI Goose and Lucy, Spud and I arrived in Bangkok yesterday. We did India and Nepal seperatly and then met up in Kathmandu to fly our bikes here, not being able to get around the Burma visa issue. I'll put up a recommendation for freighting agent. I'm planning to do Laos, Cambodia next. Let us know how you fare and whether we can help in any way.

hi I am travlleing from calais to lake baikal in June is that on your plans,may be company for part of the way

I intend to start roughly in August 2003 for the old track Europe to India, which I wanted to do already in 1971, but never had the chance and the money. I know India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Turkey and most countries of SE-Asia as well as Australia and NZ, but only the last two on motorcycle.
Who wants to join me? My motorbike will be my old Honda 600 XLM, very, very reliable or my Moto Guzzi Quota 1000.
I speak German, French, Italian, English, Spanish, Portuguese, some Malay / Indonesian, a little Russian, Urdu, Hindi. 30 years of bike experience, most in Europe, some in South America.

Hi together,
I am leaving germany (frankfurt)with my BMW G/S in June. Going South and catch the ferry from Ancona (Italy) to Cesme (Turkey). Further on Iran Pakistan, India, Thailand, Australia. Trying to set over to South Africa and following the eastcoast back to Germany. Will be 12 -15 Months on my way. Would be really great to met the one or other of you on the way.. Maybe someone would like to fix a date to travel partly together. Anytime..
