The Gambia and back March/April 2016

currently I am planning a Charity trip from the UK to the Gambia,
our plan is to leave the last week in March 2016 (depending on ferries from Portsmouth)
drive through Spain
across into Morocco via Tangiers Med, and then down the west coast to Gambia via western sahara, Mauritania, Senegal and spending a week in the Gambia,
we hope to take around 14 days to get down (quicker if we can)
coming back will be Senegal and Mauritania as quick as possible and then take around 2 week to return to the UK via various bits of Morocco.

while in the Gambia we will be helping to install solar panels into a clinic and some Nursery schools for a charity shine africa
we will be taking a Discovery 2 diesel and a defender td5.

dates will be fully confirmed when Brittany ferries realises it timetable in august.

bump,
anybody interested?

Timetables have been up for months. Portsmouth to Bilbao and return: Portsmouth to Bilbao Timetable - Brittany Ferries
BD or Baie de Seine is the "economy" ferry (quote marks are mine!)

Portsmouth to Santander and return: Portsmouth to Santander Timetable - Brittany Ferries
ET or Etretat is the "economy" ferry.

I don't like the poor choice of food on the Cap Finistere. Pont Aven and Etretat are much better in this respect. I will be travelling for the first time on Baie de Seine in July.

Factor in the cost of visa for Mauritania, see separate thread on this.

For you to obtain better responses, may I suggest you offer more specific information : for example:

The charity
Your role
Who / how is this being financed
Exactly what are you looking for?
etc etc

Charity is Shine Africa the Gambia,
Finance, I personally am self financing but in the past we have had donations,
my role, ho hum! I am the driver of one of the vehicles and I suppose the organiser!

as for what we are looking for a few options
1) meet us in Spain or Morocco, drive all the way down to Banjul,
2) as above drive as far south as you like
3) meet us in southern Morocco as we return!
4) fly down and fly back and help us while we are down there (not so adventurous!)
5) drive a vehicle down donate it to the charity (with the tax to donate to them approx £1000) fly back
6) ship a vehicle down in a container and fly down drive back,

the land group intend to be in the Gambia around the 11th of April,
so far we have two vehicles and 4 travellers but could do with another 1 or 2 vehicles.
