India (Punjab, Himachal Pradesh)
 

I'll be arriving in Delhi on Thursday, 23rd January, travelling by car to Jalandhar on 24th, and invited to a wedding in Shimla on 26th.

After this, for 5 weeks, returning to Scotland on 25th February. I'll be touring HP, Punjab, and maybe Uttarkhand.

I was originally supposed to be riding with someone, but he pulled out, so, while great to be riding India, a bummer it's alone.

Is anyone touring these areas at this time?

I'm going to return in summer to do the Mañali loop but it's -10°C there at present.

It would be so good to meet up. Maybe ride along with a group.

Manali loop
 

Hello Dennis,

Your Manali loop caught my eye.

I'm interested in riding for 3 weeks in Ladakh in September. I've been told September is the best month to ride there. I'm looking at renting and returning the 450 Himalayan in Manali & hitting as many of the stunning and high passes and valleys as possible, without riding 10 hour days. No camping for me unless it's in a "permanent type tent set up", already in place. Looks like home stays are the way to go. Would be happiest in a very small group of 3-4 riders.

I'm 69 but still ride some off road on my 350 EXC, and love my 701 Supermoto in the Smokies where I live.
