Crossing to Iran
Hi I will also cross to the Iran this weekend. So my way is via Erzurum an than the border to Maku. If interested to join just send me a message to
m.josewski@gmx.de Markus |
Marcel,
Don't worry to much about the security in Eastern Iran and Western Pakistan. Wherever you need it, in both countries, a Police vehicle will appear and escort you through the areas they regard as "a little unsafe" They always have man with a machine gun or auto shotgun in the back of their truck so it is not a problem. Be off the road before about 4pm and stay in your Hotel at night. At Dalbandin the Police insist you sleep in the Police compound, we did and I advise anyone to do so. The Iranians and Pakistani people are friendly and open and only to willing to help. Don't try and buck the system and everything should be O.K. We travelled through in March/April 2008. |
Chris,
Thanks a lot for your reply and advise. It will be our first journey. Really appreciate it. Best regards, Marcel |
Hi Everybody;
I will start my trip this weekend. Wish to see you on road. Istanbul'dan Kathmandu'ya Cheers, Murat |
