Kyrgystan, through China via Tibet, exit Laos
 

Hi, There are other groups heading through China at various times next year, 2011. None have suited when or what route I would prefer. My idea is an entry from Kyrgystan, ride through Tibet (inc Lhasa), through Sichuan and Hunnan, exiting at Mohan into Laos. Time in China expected to be 35-40 days, depending who handles the tour. Routes to the crossing point into China are entirely up to the individuals. Drop me a line if you have an interest in route and dates, or if you have other plans with space for one more.

Hi Les,

I'm think of riding through China with my brother, from Kyrgystan and than onto Shanghai, to visit our other brother. I've heard and read various conflicting reports about this border crossing; whether it's open, whether it's closed.

And again, various conflicting reports about what documentation is required. Just wonderd if you've anything new?

The only way I've found to do it is through chinese specialist agenies. I haven't heard of anyone getting through without all permits and documentation beeing previously cleared. It cost a fortune, but not much more for however many extra vehicles you take through.
