Lake Como-end of July
I will be riding my guzzi California from East Yorkshire to Lake Como at the end of July/beginning of August. My girlfriend will be the Pillion/Navigator/speed controller.
We will be camping most of, if not all the way. If anyone has personal experiences of good hotels, B&Bs, cafes, sights etc on the way down then please let me know. The route is not set but it will be motorway to Reims and then very little motorway..unless someone has another idea. If anyone is travelling at the same time, please give us a shout. Perhaps a bit more info as to the rough route i.e. France or Germany to Switzerland (presumably?)...

The Parc Nationale Des Ballons in Alsace, France is a must. Beautiful mountain scenery, not as dramatic as the Alps but just as impressive. I stopped at a municipal campsite in Orbey for about £3 a night last year. Just down the valley is the town of Kaysersberg, the most perfect medieval town with cobbled streets and half-timbered buildings, well worth a visit.
When you arrive at Commo you could visit the Moto Guzzi factory at Mandello Del Lario to see where they throw Cali's together (I've got one so don't think I'm trying to insult you). |
