Laos to Kazakhstan Mai 2018 in 16 days
 

We (Dutch couple) came over Mongolia and China to Laos in September 2017. Now we plan to drive back to Europe over the “-Stan” states, it is more interesting than shipping the car back from South-East Asia. Because we have seen South-West China already in 2017 we will drive the first part till Guangyuan (1900km) in 5 days + 1 day for border crossing. After that we follow a normal schedule through Nord-West China till Kasakhstan. We plan to start at the Laos/China border around the 1st of May (flexible) and are looking for other cars with a simular travel speed. Our car is a Toyota Landcruiser, on highways we drive around 95 – 100 km/h.
We got a reduced offer from Chengdu Travel for this 16 days China crossing. 1 car: € 3577,-; 2 cars: € 2162,- each car; 3 cars: € 1690,- each. (based on current exchange rates)
Note: this trip does not go through Tibet, it follows a more northern route.

I had been planning to cross China from Laos to Mongolia around the 16th of April but my travel companions are now unable to do so. So I am looking at other options. I am on a motorcycle.
I need to work out some issues to suit your travel dates but I maybe able too join you.
What are the cost involved for a motorcycle and when would your Chinese guide need my information?

Hi Dave,
There is a problem driving in China with motorcycle: they may not drive on highways!
A long part of our tour goes over highways because we want to do a quick transit.
As we have to stay together as a group it would mean we also can't go on highways and that is not an option for us. It would take much more days....
So, I am sorry to say in this case that forming a group with bikes is not possible for us.
