Dear all,
We will be heading home from Cairo via Libya in Decemeber 2008. Intending to cross into Libya on 7 December and spend 10 days - 2 weeks in Libya.

We are looking for people to share guide costs etc. We will be in TLC 80 and happy to carry biker's gear. We can also provide support in Cairo pre departure.

Maybe it's possible to join up with East bound overlanders for the desert section of trip.

As you can probably tell I am just beginning the research on this leg.

Any info on companies and ferries welcome (Yes I will search the HUBB too)

If I remember right, you can get a transit visa for 7 days and don't need to take a guide. If you want to stay longer in Libya, you need a tourist visa and a guide.

Thanks for the info, but we are hoping to explore further S and take more time. Maybe even up to 2 weeks.
