London to Magadan (May - August 2020)
Hi everyone,
My name is Bruce, I am 53 and live in Australia. I am riding around the world, starting in the UK in May 2020 and riding through Europe, Turkey, Georgia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Krygyzstan, Mongolia, and back into Russia for the Road of Bones to Magadan. I am planning to ride solo, but welcome company if anyone has plans around that time in any of those areas. Let me know if you are keen. Regards, Bruce |
If I can't make it in 2019, then I'll be in touch for 2020. bier

I’m 54 and live and ride in Oz as well.. I also have a bike I leave in the Uk.. I have Ridden most of Europe over the last 3 years but only as Far East as Turkey.& Estonia . Russia and beyond has interested me for a while now and to travel part of your trip could be doable but like Tomkat and Brian Dublin would be turning back at Mongolia. I would feel easier in a group of 3 or more riders so I’ll be keeping an eye on this thread and hopefully timetables and the stars align.. cheers Phil |
Hi all,
Thanks for the replies and advice. When I say "I am planning to ride solo", that is not a choice, it's more the case that I am going.... I have obsessed about this ride for a decade and I am hoping I will meet others along the way and tackle to tougher sections together. Yep, the road of bones is intimidating and I am certainly hoping to ride that section with company. Otherwise I may need to change my plans and head for Vladivostok. But that would be sad. :( My email address is bfgraydon@gmail.com if anyone is interested in corresponding between now and May 2020. Touring Ted - keep in touch if 2019 fall over. Brian - I'll drop you an email. Tomkat - if our calendars align, we could meet somewhere in the Russia or the Stans. Flick me an email if you like. Simo: I am in Brisbane, let's stay in touch in case you can join me. |

Rtw 2020
Hi
I am also planning my rtw leaving about April 2020. Plan is to go up to Nordkapp then down through Finland Estonia Latvia Lithuania etc etc to Turkey then Iran then the Stans into Russia Mongolia back to either Vladivostok or magadan. Then off to do America’s then Africa Happy to do road of bones if there at same time |
I'm planning (trying to) to go FROM (Japan) to Magadan/Vladivostok, to Eastern Europe in May 2020... If it's not doable that way, I might have to go the other way around. Also from Aus. [emoji6]. If I have company, I would do the road of bones, but if I stay solo, probably not. That WAS my intention, but I will have a limited time frame ti a degree, due to work, so being stuck somewhere waiting for help several times could blow that out too far. Can anyone please clarify.... Is IT only the OLD SUMMER ROAD that people are referring to as the really difficult ROB, or is it the whole Kolyma highway/504? It sounds like the new (?) M54 is not so bad??? [emoji849]

I know this thread has not seen any activities for a while, but here it goes:
Im currently in the middle of a 2 months Trans Euro Trail trip that will see me finishing in Bulgaria. I'm contemplating leaving the bike there and come back in April to ride towards Magadan via the road of bones and maybe the old summer road. I could get 10 to 12 weeks off to do so. So would plan to arrive in Magadan mid-june or end of june. If anyone is still looking for a partner and our plans might align for part of the way, let me know. Cheers! P.s: Im 41 y.o, fit, speak french, english and some spanish. Done a few long adventures and would say Im an experienced intermediate rider and a novice mecanic |
I will be leaving Bulgaria in May and traveling to Mongolia through the Stans. Message me if that fits in with your plans.

Looks like we meet somewhere on the roadbier
|
I will be leaving Portugal around mid-April to ride to Magadan via the stans (not first time) and then ride to Vlad. Most of my riding will be offroad if this suits anyone LMK
