Turkey, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Russia Baïkal April 2016
Hello
My start is scheduled for April 5 Turkey, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Russia Baïkal KTM Adventure - Information on my trip : Baikal |
That could be my start too.
I´ll leave Vallon pont d´Arc on 6 or 7th apr.:scooter: I plan to play it safe and I also will do Aikido wherever it´s possible. Our shedules are almost the same. On peut rouler un peu ensemble :thumbup1: |
Me I cannot before mid june ^^ :(
Start from Clermont-Ferrand |
Well, I changed plans anyway, because my wife´s concerns about the route.
She is fine if I do Central Asia on my way back, not at the start. So I will start in Ardéche, France (where we stay for easter for the last 30 or so years. Staying in Cadaqués at a friends paradise place, then to Marocco and proceed to Canada to ride parts of the TCAT-flying to Bangkok and riding the old Indochine and through China back home... So have a nice trip and stay safe! |
Post trip

what were you planning for the bike once you reach Japan? Ship back to France? |
Hi. For me it's a car
I will used my CPD (valid one year) (you also need international driving license or a translation of your driving licencing depending of your country) after i'm planing to import the car as I plan to stay 2 year in japan for work (homologation test fee are really expensive , but less if the car or bike already exist in japan ) otherwise you have to send it back or you can guive it to japanese autorythies but you loose it |
bad news
it's seem's the Ferry between Wakkanai – Korsakov is stop Japan-Russia ferry routes | Maybe it wil restart but no guaranty i will call the company otherwise to go japan have to passe south korea but it sucks as you cannot visit japan on the way you arrive directly in the middle may be interesting to visit korea but didn't plan anything there don't know the rules and possibilities |
hi mazmaz,
how long have you been planning your trip ? where did you get your CDP ? would you care to share the details of your route please ? i read a story of a man participating in a rally who got stuck in one of the 'stan' countries, no boat, had to pay corrupt officials to 'wait' for the boat and stay in harbor ! (sorry don't remember which site but was very detailed) tx ! |
I start working on that plan since 2 years
I changed the route many times to avoid any probleme and visit maximum CPD his guiven by the automobile club of your country you have to register first (200€ i think) after to make a cach deposit (minim 3500€) you need CPD for Iran and Japan (you can avoid CPD for IranI know agency that deal that but ask 500€ for a bike) you have to get information about all country you cross for visa depend of the country you cam from (for some resident like japan it's easy , for some people like marocan you just can't get any visa) You have to count how many time you want to pass a guiven country. Sometimes it's difficult or inpossible to pass many time I can guive you info but if you plan to leave this summer I suggest to move the plan to 2017 (I will share info when my facebook page will be finish) you need to collect info by yourself also ;) |
