Hello all! I'm planning on departing OCtober28-Nov1, depending on when I finish getting my bike outfitted and maintenance done. I will be leaving from California and heading done through mexico. I am planning on copper canyon and The Devils Back bone where I will catch the pacific coastline in Mazatlan. I will try to catch the Panamerica before entering guatemala. My goal is to get to Colombia no later than November 21. I will do the remainder of the trip to Tierra Del Fuego(Argentina) in sections. I will be storing the bike along the way and then fly back in and pick up where I left off. I will be riding a 2005 BMW R1200GS.
California-Colombia Nov 1-nov 21. Colombia -Bolivia January 14-february7. Bolivia -argentina(Tierra del Fuego) in April Once I get past Mexico I am pretty flexible and open to suggestion. Sounds great. The Copper Canyon is amazing. I'm in Chile, currently working, but planning a trip like yours in the future.
Where do you plan to store your bike along the way? I may have to take that option myself. |

Bike Storage

I am planig to do that trip from south to north and also in two or three parts. I would like to store the bike in Ecuador. I could not find a way to store the bike for more than 3 months. The only country that lets you store the bike for up to one year is Uruguay. So if you find out a way to store a bike in Ecuador or Peru please post a note. Ride safe Franz |

Hi all, I am in Madera, Chihuahua Mexico at the moment. Tomorrow I will ride down to Durango and then Mazatlan, and then stick to the coast all the way. Anyone in route?

If you are in Madera headed south, do yourself a favor spend an extra day going to the town of Batopilas in Batopilas canyon. You'll be going through Creel, so ask around there for directions, well worth the detour.
