Mexico/Guatemala in late June
 

I will be in Los Mochis tomorrow and will likely spend the week (or more) waiting for a new shock to arrive (destroyed in Copper Canyon yesterday).

When the bike is fixed, I'll be heading down the coast and crossing into Guatemala at the end of July if anyone wants to hook up.

If anyone has a recommendation as to where I can stay for a week or how to have a shock mailed (general delivery or other) let me know. I've never had to do anything like this before. Thanks.

hey budster, im in cabo, baja, perhaps I could meet u in mainland mexico, b the way im mexican but fluid in english i could teach u spanish on the way.

Hey sorry it took so long to get back with you, I just quit my job, moved to Northern Utah, just got here last night and moved my stuff in to storage this morning. Now I have one month to get ready to leave.
In early June I'll ride up to the Canada border and spend the month on the CDT.
Where and when would you like meet?
Spanish help would be great! I'm freaking terrible!

I'm currently on the east coast heading west to california mid june roughly the 8/9th to spend a few weeks with friends then i'll be heading south maybe fancy a bit of baja to spice it up before ferry to mainland then get some mexico experience too.

So i'll be leaving l.a near the end of june too and am on my own, also on a dr650 and can do a bit of spanish but thats part of the fun. I do off and on road not fussy like both.

i'm aiming for panama then maybe fly south but a riding partner for some/all of it would be great!! How old are you? i'm 22 but being english can be mature or occasionally too light hearted, its a good mix for travel

Shout me on here but sounds like you fancy someone to ride with, i camp or cheap accomdation and beer etc.. I've just got a cell so leave me a message and your number or something or i'll post mine up when i check tomorrow befor getting back on the road.

I had not really considered doing baja but maybe I should, never been there after all.
Yep, I'm traveling pretty cheap too, will be camping till I get to Mex, then I'll be looking for cheap rooms.

lol wow buddy i've just checked out your blogs type things, seems you keep very up to date!!

I'd happily have a ride buddy, camping cheap hostels etc sounds good but as said i'm after baja to experience it as well as mainland mexico. After that it'll be waking up and planning where to go on the day whilst having a rough iidea.

Got your cell so i'll buzz you at the weekend when i'm back near a computer as well hopefully.

I'll keep you in mind. Right now I'm not sure if I'll have a riding partner for Baja, if not, I'll just ride though Chihuahua to Creel. I'll still let you know either way.

hey ricky i'm on the west coast now just taking some time out and exploring, looks like your still in colorado so while i'm getting set up i'll give you a call and we can sort out the ride if you still fancy it>

How's it going guys? I'm in LA, probably crossing into Baja on the 20th or so, riding down to Cabo then ferry across to Mexico proper and south from there. Might see you on the road somewhere, i'm on an old black BMW R65 with Aussie plates.

Heading to Ecuador
 

Hi everybody, I´m in Ciudad del Carmen-Mexico at the moment, moving up towards Merida then Cancún. I am considering getting into Belize and then Guatemala. I might be in Mexico for another week. I´d like to join anybody to keep going down towards Ecuador. I´d be more than happy camping, doing cheap accomodation or stopping along the way, I m very flexible. I´ve been riding on my own I haven´t had any problems so far but I think it´d be more fun having other buddies.

Just to poach some space on Ricky's thread, I have similar plans, but am a few weeks behind him.

I am interested in New Mexico to Batopilas --> Creel --> Sea of Cortez. Never done Copper Canyon before, so I'd love to ride it with someone around the second week of July.

I'll be migrating down to Guanajuato for my school starting July 20. All advice welcome. :thumbup1:
