Mongolia 2018
 

I will be riding across Europe and Central Asia in May June July 2018 and would like to ride across Mongolia with someone else as i am worried about the river crossings.
I will be heading into Mongolia from the west at about the start of July and could meet in Olgi. Then on to Ulan Baator.
Anyone keen?

Maybe us, but nothing is fixed yet in our plan. And we're with a 4x4 van.

what are you riding on? I'm on xt660z tenere and I'm planning to do either Mongolia or TAT next year so who knows.

What is TAT?

My bike is currently in Tajikistan. I plan to leave Dushanbe in mid June and head to Ulaanbaatar with the aim of arriving there by mid July. I am then carrying on to Magadan. Look my blog up on Facebook, 'Hammering it to Magadan'. We could possibly ride together.

If you can ride all that way alone, you shouldn't be worried about river crossings.
If you come to a water crossing that you are hesitant to cross, just wait! It wont be long before a Mongolian on a motorbike or in a car comes along. Stop them and say you are worried about the crossing. They will help you, even walk into the water with their boots on. Everyone helps each other in Mongolia.
You don't have to speak the language, they will understand your hands and face. Trust them.

a friend and i, will leave france in late april 2018, travel though the balkans, turkey, georgia, russia kazakhstan then other stans ( pamir hw ) , we will cross the russian-mongolian border around mid june .

I ride the motorbike to Moscow and then I will try to put the motorbike (and me !) in the transiberian to Irkoutsk

Hi, I'm riding from the UK to Japan, setting off in April and should be going through Mongolia some time in July. I'll happily ride with you or anyone else but I'm only on a 125 so can't go too fast :)

im leaving the uk on May 10th heading upto nordkapp, then onto turkey/stans/mongolia/magadan, ferry to japan late september/october.

Lets keep in touch. Leave France on May 6th, across europe, turkey, georgia, armenia, iran, then if i can get a visa for Turkmenistan, there into Uzbek, Tajik, Kyrg, Kazak, Russia, Mongolia, then through siberia to Magadan.
If i cant get this f.....Turkmen visa will divert into Azerb and cross to Kazak and into Uzbek.
