Mongolia (UB) to Vladivostok May 17 - Jun 30 2011
BMW F650GS leaving Ulaanbaatar Mongolia last week of May 2011 headed towards Vlad maybe with a side trip up to Magadan before Vlad. No rushing to get anywhere. From Vlad I will ferry to Korea and ship bike home (USA). Anyone in the area during that time looking to join up. :mchappy:

I seem to recall you doing a trip last summer--did you leave your bike in Ulan Bator for the winter?

following soon
Hi there we are planning exactly the same route but just 2 months later, probably we will leave Ulaan batar around the 15th of July,
please let us knowroad conditions and filling station availability.. have a nice trip ciao enrico |
Road conditions starting at 2,000KMS west of Navarosk is great, no hwy police and with one short section of MAJOR construction plus the usual occassional pot hole and whoooopie bumps. From Navarosk to Vladivostok all old road, it starts out bad and gets worse each mile closer to Vlad and Vlad is an absolute construction mess 60 miles north and all the way into town center. M60 is a traffic jam road since it's the only main road, trucks on every hill and no passing lanes. Also the closer to Vlad the more hwy police you see.
Gas available except 750km section starting about 2,000kms before Navarosk where the stations are 300kms apart normally they are 200kms apart. You may have to go off the main road 10-20kms into a town for gas during the 300kms sections, normally the stations are on the main road. Sometimes the cafe's have gas at double the price. . Good luck and watch the Navarosk to Vlad. |

Are you in Vlad at the moment. We are two brits waiting for our BMWs to arrive from Seattle. We are currently staying at Hotel Vladivostok if you want to hook up. We are heading west back to UK. A dutch couple are just loading a 20' container bound for Seattle if you are interested. Martin |
Maybe a little less traffic, I was totallyfocused on my side of the road, but still a major mess and the M60 is old old pot hole patches. Research the roads farther east of the M60 I believe the Iron Tigers avoid M60 and ride the roads east of it as far north as you can.

I'm staying with the Iron Tigers club/shop until I can get on the ferry to Korea, I would welcome all the english speaking riders I can meet Ha. I'm thinking about the container to Seattle now since I can't get a ferry ticket until July 13th or maybe I will stay here till then and ride north on some backroads till then. Today I'm busy with the ferry people so I can't leave here until late tonight or tomorrow. you can reach me at +7 924 3200 541

Hello All,
I want to leave Ulaan Baatar in around 3-4days, heading east, planning my border crossing to Russia via Choibalsan/Borzya. I want to go then via Tynda/Yakutsk to Magadan. Somebody around who would like to join? Thank you! Best regards Holger |
