Morocco August 1st - 18th
Hi,
We are planning a trip out to Morocco in August. Not very far or special like some of the crazy adventures on here, but it'll be interesting all the same. Is anyone else going to be out there then? Any tips or pistes you can suggest? I've got a rough plan drawn up of where I want to go already but open to suggestions. -James |
I'll possibly still be there then.
Unless you are really used to heat, I'd suggest you concentrate on the Middle and High Atlas as it's cooler at altitude. There's a ton of really good pistes and roads in that area. Take a 2- or 3-litre hydration pack, chug-a-lug a least half a litre of water each morning before setting off and try to avoid wearing black. :) Sometimes you can't ride with the visor up as the air blast is too hot on your skin, so a buff is a good idea, especially as you can keep it wet. Take total sunblock for the nose and lips. I'm carrying a tiny battery-operated fan that can be stuck on end to provide a small amount of air movement at nighttime but the ideal solution on sticky nights is to sleep on the roof of hotels, so take mossy repellent. |
