Morocco/Mauritania/Senegal March to May '16

I am riding solo on my DRZ400 down through Morocco, through Mauritania, to Senegal and back during March, April, and May. I am planning to do some of the pistes around Ouarzazate on the way back. Rough itinerary is arrival in Tanger Med on 21st March and arrive in Senegal around 4 weeks later. I would stop off in Rabat for a few days to pick up Mauritanian visa.

Has anyone else got anything similar planned and perhaps travel together for some of the route?

Let me know. :scooter:

Not on that route expressly, but arriving Tanger Med 30 or 31st March, riding solo in the Mid and Anti-Atlas, spending time just looking at life as it goes. Flexible itinerary, partly based on places I want to see and tracks proposed by Chris Scott. Happy to share my Moroccan phone number once I get there, if we happen to be in the same area or nearby, would be nice to meet. I usually stay away from ride groups but don't snob anyone. Of course groups can be a lot of fun as well!

Safe travels

Hi - I'm landing in Melilla in my Landcruiser (apologies for the extra wheels ;) ) on 2nd April heading all the way South. I have a couple of appointments on the way - Casablanca 7th April, Dakhla 16th - to pick up and drop of 'guests'...but I'm on my own from there on. I'll be on the lookout!

Hi Tosborn2, did you pull it off, your journey? I am keen to learn about your experience. Especially on the safety challenges re Mauritania....

Considering to a similar tour end of the year, and then epxlore way to go all the way down (as an alternative on the east-africa route, with Syria in the way).

Cheers,
Remco

Mauri is not a problem, go and enjoy..getting back in from Senegal is the only hassle. Plenty of info on here about that route.

Thanks Tonka, are you doing a similar route? Keen to know if visas are easy to organize at the border..
