Morocco to Mauritania - Spare seat anyone
I am currently in Meknes working my way down to Western Sahara. I need a lift across the border into Mauritania or even better to the border with Senegal. I hope to pass through Mauritania the last week in March. Can anyone help me with this or offer some advice as to where the best place to get a lift is now that the convoys have been scrapped. All help greatly appreciated.

Try campsites on the road South - the one at Dakhla is probably still a gathering point. I believe you can get a bus there. The one in Sale next to Rabat also seems a popular overlanders haunt.

Hallo Ian, me too, I'm looking for a lift for MAUR /Senegal for the beginning of April. What do you mean by "bus". Are there official bus connections now that the border seems to be widely open? Michael [This message has been edited by wittemichael (edited 05 March 2002).] |
I mean I believe you can get an 'offical' (CTM?) bus to Dakhla. I don't think you can get one over the border - it would be a struggle to get one through no-mans land. Perhaps you should (both) post your questions in the Sahara forum for more up to date info and to request a lift.
