Nepal to Europe September 2014
Hi all,
I'm in the process of riding my bike from Nepal to the Netherlands, starting September this year. I've just send my application for my Indian visa, so hope that goes well. If you're heading the same way, around the same time, I'd like to share information or you can even be a buddy for traveling? My route is: Nepal, India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Europe. I'm driving a 650cc Moto Guzzi NTX. Tim www.waarjijnunietbent.nl |
Hi there
Your trip sounds great. I've just got back from a trip round Taiwan, Japan and Korea for 4 months and need a new challenge.
I'm currently looking at flying to Nepal in September, buying a bike and driving it back to the UK. I started at looking at India but it seems more of a pain to get a CPD. I'm just looking at the cost of a Carnet de Passage from Nepal to the UK for something like a new Enfield 500. Are you riding your bike to Nepal and back, or shipping your bike to Nepal and riding back? How long are you thinking of taking for the whole trip? I've been to India a few times over the years and to Iran once a couple of years ago. Your route looks good. :thumbup1: |
I could seriously be up for that, I will be finished in Thailand around the 15th that gives me 2 weeks to air freight to Nepal but I did want to do so exploring along the way. Ie not just blasting through everyday. Currently in Sumatra So Ill watch this thread with interest that is my preferred route too, How long were you thinking of taking to reach Europe? I only want to make Georgia for the winter :)

Heading the same way
Hi Tim,
I am in Nepal right now, I will be riding to India next month and crossing Pakistan to Iran early to mid September. By the sounds of it, I could be several weeks ahead of you. But there is every chance you may catch up to me, I'm a slow traveler. Cheers, Zac zalderman@hotmail.com |
Hi Tim,
I am currently in Bangkok, but will be heading back to Cambodia and Vietnam in about a week. Have ridden up from Australia and have been riding SE Asia for the last seven months and having a ball. My plan is to head to Nepal in Sept to catch the best of the weather and visiability and then a similar route into Europe. I will however be taking my time and will probably not depart India until March of 2015 which is the joy of not being on a deadline. Would be interest to hook up for the Nepal section and perhaps we can negotiate a better deal on shipping or even look at an overland option through Myanmar. My and my bike are currently in New Zealand, that's where I shipped my bike about 7 years ago to start my trip, but due to family circumstances I had to abort it. Now just did a year in Australia and a three month trip around New Zealand. I just got my India visum (was not to hard) and next week I will be applying for the Pakistan visa. Carnet is on it's way I hope. ADAC will take care of that. The time I will spend is about 2 to 3 months, but I'm not to sure. (ps. I should've put email notification ON, on this topic :|) |
