North America - South America 2015
 

I'm (hopefully) heading to Canada in the summer for the two year working holiday thing, and I would very much like to do a bike trip down to South America afterwards.

I'm just putting this out as a vague feeler, as I don't like to plan too far ahead. But if anyone with a similar mindset to me is considering something similar at that time then maybe it's worth a thought if you're looking to group up.

Just to clarify, my mindset is light off-road capable bikes, route deliberately taking in some off-road trails, relaxed-ish pace, rough camping, stopping at some cities to have a good time, and plenty of drinking along the way.

Good to hear your planning another big trip, hope it goes as well as your 2009 trip to Mongolia.


I,m currently planning to head over to Canada this summer (2013) to ride the "Trans Canada Adventure Trail" and if l can get my work permit sorted l should be working over there at the end 2013. Depending on how things go and if I,m still in the country l should be up for joining you on this one if your heading off in 2015. I think by that time l will be dying for another adventure. :thumbup1:

I will be travelling accross USA/Canada and hope to complete some of the TCAT in May/June. Does this coincide with your dates ??

I should be there around June/July, have also made contact with another traveler on here (darbya) who is also planning to ride the trail this summer, will be hopefully shipping my current bike a 2008 G650X over before hand other wise l,ll pick up a suitable bike there.

Enjoy your travels in North America guys! Unfortunately I missed out on getting my visa so I'm going to Oz instead.

I guess I'll still be looking to do a big bike trip after a couple of years of working, but now more likely to be starting off in South America and finishing in Canada. See you out on the road!

Good luck in Oz, at lest your be getting better weather throughout the year and there's some fantastic biking to be had there, The IEC was madness this year with the numbers trying to apply and the way it was handled l was lucky enough to get in on the third round.

Hey Robert. I'm planning on heading south from the Yukon in late August - early September 2015. Planning on going all the way down then back up. I have 7 months. KLR 650.
