Northern Spain- Picos- Asturias areas August 2018
 

I'm heading down (with one other bike)from the UK on the 11th August,2/3 days through France then loafing around the Pyrenees as we head West.
I have a hotel booked in Espinama near Potes 15th-19th so will be having loop rides from there over those 4 days.
Otherwise I may head a bit further west or drop south a bit and punt around, looking to be back in the UK on the 27th.

If you're in the area and want to hook up for riding or drinking beers you're most welcome along!

Riding style is leisurely ish....

I've just come back from doing that trip in July. I went for 18 days including the route along the south side of the Pyrenees. It was as hot as hell but what amazed me was that the roads were almost deserted and sometimes I saw nobody else for hours. If you want to get off the bike for a bit and do some walking you could visit Cain de Valdeon, a village in the middle of the Picos and walk along the Ruta del Cares. It's a route which is cut into the rock face and goes through the gorge. It's an easy walk but the scenery is spectacular.

I'll have a look at that, I'm away for 17 days so will need some time off the bike...

By the way, you can camp for free in the grass car park next to the little bar at the end of the village. You can't miss it, it's the last place at the end of the road next to the river.

I introduce my self: My name is Ignacio, spanish, experiment rider, 48 years old.
I live in in Villaviciosa area. Next Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th, a Grand Prix will be held in La Bañeza, very popular and unique in the Iberian peninsula. I'm pretty sure I'll go there. As I live in Gijón area and you have your place in Espinama, the village of Riaño could be a good meeting point on saturday 18th, at noon, in Restaurante "Punto Y Coma", Avenida de Valcayo, 21, 24900 Riaño, León.
My motorcycle is a blue Yamaha Fazer 600 (2006), spanish license plate. I am sorry, I don´t have "what´s up" and I don´t drink alcohol. :-)
If you or someone wants to ride togheter, you are wellcome, I will be there at that time in that place

My idea idea is sleep in the camping area in La Bañeza from saturday to sunday.
