Are you set on May? I am going to do it but maybe June /July, my experience because of the altitude it never gests too hot in the height of summer.
Plus want to do the off road route across (50% off road)

I came to off- roading quite late so consequently I am quite slow. The other miss match is that I have just traded my KTM 690R for a Triumph Tiger 800xcx , so you may want to choose a more suitable partner?

Don't want to rush the trip, was thinking of camping and hotels the way along .

I am 46 married, live between Spain and UK and I quite chilled.
