In San Cris
may or may not stay awhile depending ... anyone headed or near here...was thinking of guatemala its 4 hrs away :scooter:zig |
Headed to San Cris
I am headed that way but in Puerto Vallarta tonight. Leaving tomorrow and driving south along the coast. I should be in San Cris in 3-5 days but want to visit Palenque before going to Guatemala.

Palenque
I'll probably go there tomorrow for a few days, then guat or back to san cristobal...my itinerary is up in the air..
you going all the way south and crossing to Colombia ? Quote:

My plans are even less certain. I made it to Zihuatenajo today. I'm still 3 days from San Chris. When I finish looking around Palenque, I will reassess. I do know I will not be crossing to Colombia. I highly recommend it though!!

I am a day behind Musq, Not sure of how soon I will be in San Cristobal, maybe by this week end, I am on the Nov. 17th run of the Stahlratte, so I can't play around to much. So maybe see you on the way. I was thinking of maybe Day of the dead in Santiago Guatemala, if I get my butt in gear.
|
Akbill, Are you on the coast? I am in Zihuatenajo and looking for a chain. If you're close, let me know.

Greetings,
I am in San Cristobal for two nights before heading to the Guatemalan border. Arrived two hours ago. Drop me a line if anyone is about. Regards, Mike. |
I am another biker in Antigua for a little bit before heading further south. But just Panama and back this time.
|
Hi all,
I will go on Stahlratte 17. Nov. and will be in Antigua tomorrow. Any recommendation for a place to stay in Antigua? Regards, Uli |
Hi Uli
We stayed in Casa Cristina and the lady who runs the hotel let us park our bike at her house around the corner (very secure) If you are looking for budget accommodation then try El Hostal. They let you park your bike securely in the entrance (locking doors at night). We've just left and are in Honduras so might see you on the way (we're on the same boat as you) Cheers Dan |
There are plenty of places in Antigua, but El Hostel on the east side of town on 1 Av is pretty nice and easy on the budget. If you get into town, there are plenty of bikers around. I am here for a few more days too.

Good morning everyone,
thanks for the hints - i will move into direction of Antigua now and will check out your tips - I do also plan a visit to the moto cafe ;) Look out for a Triumph Tiger - with huge side and top boxes in grey. Cu, Lucky |
I checked out both Casa Christina and El Hostal and decided for El Hostal - there a lot of traverls around and the place is funny.
Though Casa Christina left a very good impression as well. Thx for the tips. Cheers, Uli |
In Granada for a couple of days if anyone is around.
