SoCal to Ushuaia Dec.2014

Hello,
I'm headed to Argentina from So. California, on or around December 15th riding my BMW R1200GS.
I plan to cross into Mexico at Nogales, AZ, then head south along the Pacific coast, through Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica and Panama.
Crossing on the ferry to Colombia, then to Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Argentina to Ushuaia. Then returning up the Atlantic coast to Mar del Plata and Buenos Aires.
My return is more or less open, but initially would follow the similar route north.
I'm from Argentina, so I'm fluent in Spanish, with quite a bit of riding experience down there.
I plan to stay at hostels or camp where possible.
I'm seeking travel companion/s, all or part/s of the way.
Anybody interested please contact me.
Thanks,
Daniel

If you see three guys on old KLRs, wave. We are shooting for December 1 on the ferry.

Hello DASrider, i'm from Bakersfield, California. I'm pretty much doing the same trip your describing. I'm currently in El Salvador. I got tired of waiting so i just went for it. I plan on leaving the bike on costa Rica for a month and then continuing south January 2. If you leave by the 15th i'm sure our paths will cross. Jvrengineer@yahoo.com

Hi jvr5282, great to hear! I have been planning this trip for longer than I want to remember and like you got tired of waiting when my latest companion bailed out.
I want to try to push through Central America and quickly, so I may very well be able to catch up, let's keep in touch.

juanvaldez650, if you are headed south, looks like you're about a month ahead of me.
If you're coming north we'll certainly cross paths, see you on the road!

Your trip sends very similar to ours. Are you planning on going through Copper Canyon before you go to the coast?

No, I figure I can do Mexico anytime, my target is Argentina, so I plan to stay on course without major deviations until South America.
But for many reasons (border crossings, security, etc) I would rather not do it alone, so I'm more or less open. When are you leaving?

Hey DAS,

I'm travelling on a KLR Canada to Argentina, am currently waiting for some parts in San Diego and am looking to head through Baha from the 25th November.
Sounds like I'm a bit ahead of you, would be good to share some road if you catch up along the way though! I'm solo at the moment and looking for a few other riding buddies.
Cheers,
Dave

I'm leaving from Ventura County, so it sounds like you're way ahead, but you never know.
I'm leaving solo but I'll be on the lookout for company.
Let's keep in touch, cheers.
