Solo Female Dakhla to Nouadhibou
 

Hi,

I'll be traveling from Morocco down into Mauritania around mid April solo.
Can anyone recommend the best way to hitch a ride OR even better is anyone heading this way at this time!?

Hi Leigh,

we are doing the same road but later in the year (october). I you wanna to postpone .. you are most welcome to join.
Be aware that all the summer months (june to september) are "rain months" in mauritania and other w african countries. There are heavy thunderstorms with very important road damage, in so far roads can be blocked for weeks.
On top it can be extremely hot ... thats why we plan to travel november/december in those countries.

Hi, you should have no probs with this route at any time of year its all tar except for a couple of k's of sand between border posts, loads of traffic going north and south so you should be able to hitch a ride, lots of french heading south selling cars in Nouadibou or Nouachott so just turn up at the camp ground in Dakhla and ask around.
