South America Dec 09
Hi I am looking for partners for a journey from the Southern tip of South America to its northern coast - Venezuala and beyond. It will be an epic adventure as we stop along the way and take our time - rather than just riding/rush through everywhere. A long journey indeed.... at least 10 thousand miles and around 3 or 4 months to do it. Think Che Guavara: 'Motorcycle Diaries' type journey.... If you are easy to get along with, socialable and more a gent than a stereotypical biker, please get in touch.
best wishes Steve:welcome: |

hopefully we reach ushuiaia march 09-if the bike will be ok then, are you interested?

Thanks Jo
But i won't begin the journey until the end of 09, good luck with your trip s |
South America Dec 09
Hi Steve.
How do you intend to get your bike to South America? Cheers Patrick |
I'm very interested on this journey, but the timing is a little off for me. First, it is the rainy season for South America and I think it will make things more difficult, and second because I can not get off work for 4 months. I may be able to join you somewhere in Northern Chile and ride up to Machu Pichu....but that's all.
Hey, I'll retire in 2011! Carlos |
Hey Stephen
I'm very interested in this trip! I'm actually thinking Canada to Argentina but hey ho why not do it in reverse! I could travel with you (and your group?) and then continue north? I like the sound of your approach as I'm certainly more traveller than mad biker lol I'm thinking that if you/we fall in love with a place stay there for a few days or even couple of weeks etc??? If we fall in love with different places then we arrange another meet at a new destination? Anyhow I'm rambling lol Please get in touch if you fancy more of a chat Good luck if we don't meet up! maybe we'll cross in South America Nick |
South America - November 2009
Hi there,
My wife and I are hoping to start our South American trip in November of 2009. I am having the bike (R1200 GSA) flown to Buenos Aires at the end of October. We plan to head south in to Patagonia for the first month or so before turning north and heading into Chile, then on to Peru and Ecuador (and maybe a side trip to the Galapagos). We will then turn back south into Peru again and cross over into Bolivia. Then it's back to Argentina, arriving again in BA late Feb. It maybe that our paths won't cross but let's keep in touch as plans change and we may just keep heading north at the Ecuador/Colombia border. I spent 9 months in South America (not on a bike unfortunately) in 1999 and loved the place. I have a sabbatical from work for 4 months and my wife has not been to South America so its 120 days of riding/touring bliss! Best wishes Steve |
