Chile, Carretera Austral, FEB 08

I´m planning to do a trip from my city, Santiago to the South of Chile, the target is travel to the carretera austral (puerto Montt, Coyhaique, Palena, Chilechico,Villa O Higgins,) ,and visit secondary roads that I as Chilean have heard that a really wonderful (Bahia Exploradores (glaciar), Palena, Puelo, Reserva Jeinemeni).


My plan is start from Stgo,Feb. 16 from Puerto Montt. I like the idea of travel alone but if anyone wants to join for a part of the trip welcome.

My bike is a Yamaha TT 250.

Carretera Austral goes in the parallel to Ruta 40 (Argentina), but while ruta 40 is a pampa (plateu), Carretera Austral go trough forest, rivers and lakes.

Hi Jose... if nobody else rents my Yamaha's Super Tenere XTZ750, three of them, I am planning a ride from Puerto Montt, Chiloe with all its roads and Quellon sailing to Chaiten then Villa O'Higgins with Tortel in between and returning by Argentina... cheaper fuel... send the bike to Puerto Montt by bus... actually I have one bike rented to a couple from Australia (Pat and Belinda) who are travelling Argentina and will end their trip last week of January 2008... they own the same type of bike (2 in Australia and 1 in Europe)... if somebody is interested to join us please contact me at my site Chile Moto Adventures or through this HUBB
