Stockholm to Iran and back

Hello

I am planing to travel from Stockholm via Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey into Iran.
Then go back more or less the same way. Maybe go back via Balticum. Who knows.

I leave Stockholm on the 10 July (within one week from now yes). I can be away for 4 weeks. About 300 to 400 km/day is a good pace for me.
I travel on a KTM 950 adventure. I am bringing camping gear, but thats mostly for emergencies. I enjoy riding on twisty montain roads, but would love to do some offroad or gravel roads. Or ride in the desert or sand dunes.

I have done very little planning for this tripp. I may need to get new tires halfway. I hope I will get my visa in time. It usually sorts itself out.

My name is Andris. I am 31 years old. This will not be my first trip, but probably the longest.

Please join!! :)

How was it ?

Hi Andris,

By now you should be back and emotions and memories settled.

How was it?

I'm particularly interested in Turkey - Iran crossing, the administrative side. Did you have Carnet, was escort/guide necessary, etc. Any other tips that would make life of fellow riders easier?

We are plannign a 10 day blast from Cyprus to teheran and back in later April 2017.

Rgds,
Momir

Hi Momir
I did Iran a few years ago- great country. Carnet is good to have - they took it pretty serious at the border in Barzagan. Take contact to Hossein Sheyklou on Facebook, Hosseins Guesthouse.
Very nice guy who will help ya !

Best regards. The Dane

Hi Momir and the Dane,

one important thing to note, there are two guys under the same name, and their websites are almost the same, figure that out.

I would opt for the wiser guy if you ask me, life's wisdom is present in his work and acts ;)
