Thailand - Myanmar - India, May 2017 +/- a week or two.
Hi,
My girlfriend and I are planning to cross Myanmar with Osuga from either Thailand or Laos (if possible) to India, on two motorcycles. We're hoping to gather a group to share the cost. :helpsmilie: Laos has become an idea to avoid entering Thailand twice with the new guide restrictions in 2017 :thumb down: If you think you'll be crossing East to West during the month of May please get in touch. Dates are not set yet. 4wheelers are obviously welcome too! Lee and Veronika. |
Update on where we can cross.
Can not cross into Myanmar from Laos. So we're planning to cross at Myawaddy, southeast of Myanmar. I have cost details, PM me for information. |

Still looking for trip sharing?
Hi Lee
Are you still planning to cross Myanmar in May? We are looking at an 11 day trip with Burma Senses going through Inle Lake/Bagan/Mandalay (8 days riding, 3 days sight seeing/not riding). Our 60 day Thai visa expires on 27th May so we plan to leave by then. If this length of trip is of interest to you, let me know and we can share the costs a bit better. We are looking to book in the next few days. Burma Senses seem to have a good reputation, have been very helpful and the prices are good. We are two up on a 40 year old BMW so the pace may not be blistering! Matt |
Hi Lee and Veronika,
In your first post you are talking about the new guide restrictions in 2017 for Thailand. What is it exactly? We are planning to drive a 4x4 in Thailand (but not Burma) this year and didn't have this info... We are going on an Asia tour from France to Japan. I thought only China and Burma had such restriction... Thanks and best, Hugo |
